How to Apply Reflective Tape

Nástroje, které budete potřebovat
- Mild detergent or surface cleaner
- Clean cloths or paper towels
- Měřicí páska nebo pravítko
- Nůžky nebo řemeslný nůž
- Plastic squeegee or old credit card
- Optional: edge sealer (for outdoor/vehicle use)
Krok 1: Připravte povrch
Clean the surface thoroughly with mild detergent and water. Remove dust, grease, or wax, and dry completely. Ideal temperature: 10–30°C.
Step 2: Measure & Cut the Tape
Measure the area carefully. Cut tape to size, rounding off corners to prevent peeling.
Step 3: Peel & Position
Peel a small section of backing. Position the tape and apply slowly, removing more backing as you go.
Step 4: Apply Even Pressure
Use a squeegee or old credit card to press the tape down firmly, working from the centre outward.
Step 5: Seal the Edges (Optional)
For outdoor use, apply a thin layer of edge sealer along the tape borders.
Krok 6: Závěrečné kontroly
Check for bubbles or wrinkles. Allow 24 hours before washing or heavy exposure.
Application Tips by Surface
- Vehicles: Use ECE104-approved tape, apply along flat panels.
- Bicycles: Cut into smaller strips for frames and rims.
- Bollards: Use flexible glass bead tape on curved surfaces.
- DIY/Home: Highlight steps, doors, or bins with weather-resistant tape.

- Stretching the tape during application
- Using sharp metal tools to press the tape
- Skipping measurement or rushing the process
Maintenance & Aftercare
Clean gently with mild soapy water, avoid harsh chemicals, and inspect edges regularly. Replace if the tape becomes faded or damaged.
