Setup and Rope Installation
The RIG descender is designed for easy rope installation while remaining connected to the harness.
Installing the Rope
- Ensure the device is connected to your harness via the safety gate on the moving side plate. This prevents accidental drops of the device.
- Open the safety gate.
- Follow the rope guide and markings on the device to correctly install the rope. The ergonomic handle allows for convenient descent control.
- Close the safety gate securely.

Descent Control
The ergonomic handle allows for precise control during descent. Two possible descent modes are available: on the side plate or in the V-shaped friction channel.

Short Ascents and Belaying
- Once locked, the rope can be taken up without manipulating the handle, facilitating easy short ascents.
- The cam can be manipulated to take up slack easily or belay a lead using climbing techniques.
