Vybalení a kontrola

Carefully remove the pedals and any included accessories from the packaging. Inspect all components for any signs of damage. Ensure you have both pedals and any accompanying cleats and hardware.

• 8mm Hex Wrench (for pedal installation)
• Small Hex Wrench (for cleat tension adjustment)
• Grease (for pedal threads)

Instalace pedálu

Before installation, apply a thin layer of grease to the threads of the pedal axles. This prevents seizing and makes future removal easier.

Identify the left (L) and right (R) pedals. The right pedal has standard threading, while the left pedal has reverse threading. Turn the right pedal clockwise to tighten and the left pedal counter-clockwise to tighten.

Insert the pedal axle into the crank arm's threaded hole. Use an 8mm hex wrench to tighten the pedals securely. Do not overtighten, but ensure they are firm to prevent loosening during rides.

Cleat Installation (if applicable)

The LOOK KEO 2 Max pedals are compatible with LOOK KEO cleats. Attach the cleats to your cycling shoes using the provided screws and washers. Adjust the cleat position to optimize power transfer and comfort, typically aligning the cleat under the ball of your foot. Different cleat colors (Red, Grey, Black) offer varying degrees of float (movement) to suit individual preferences and biomechanics.

Operating Your KEO 2 Max Pedals

Cliping In

Position the front of your cleat over the front lip of the pedal. Apply downward pressure with your heel, pushing it towards the pedal. You should hear a distinct "click" as the cleat engages with the pedal mechanism.

Vystřižení

To disengage, twist your heel outwards, away from the bicycle frame. This action releases the cleat from the pedal. Practice clipping in and out in a safe, controlled environment before riding on public roads.

Adjusting Cleat Tension

The KEO 2 Max pedals feature adjustable tension, allowing you to customize the ease of clipping in and out. Locate the small screw on the rear of the pedal body, typically marked with '+' and '-' symbols.

Use a small hex wrench to turn the screw: clockwise to increase tension (making it harder to clip out) or counter-clockwise to decrease tension (making it easier to clip out). Start with a lower tension setting if you are new to clipless pedals and gradually increase as you become more comfortable.

Regularly clean your pedals to remove dirt, dust, and road grime. Use a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the pedal materials.
