2. Nastavení

1. Rozbalení: Carefully remove the sharpener from its packaging. Inspect for any damage.
2. Umístění: Place the sharpener on a stable, flat surface. The non-slip rubberized bottom is designed to keep the unit secure during use. Ensure the surface is clean and dry to maximize grip.

3.1 Obecná bezpečnostní opatření

• Always hold the sharpener firmly by the handle with one hand.
• Keep fingers away from the sharpening slots and knife blade during operation.
• Do not apply excessive downward pressure; let the sharpener do the work.
• Clean knives and scissors before sharpening.
• Sharpening creates small metal particles. Wipe the blade clean after sharpening.

3.2 Sharpening Knives (Western and Japanese)

1. Identify Knife Type: Determine if your knife is a Western (Standard) or Japanese (Asian) blade.
2. Select Coarse Slot: For very dull knives, begin with the appropriate "Coarse" slot (Standard Coarse or Asian Coarse).
3. Sharpening Stroke: Insert the knife blade into the chosen coarse slot at a 90-degree angle to the sharpener. Pull the knife blade through the slot from heel to tip, using light, consistent downward pressure. Repeat this motion 3-5 times.
4. Select Fine Slot: After using the coarse slot, or for knives that are only slightly dull, move to the corresponding "Fine" slot (Standard Fine or Asian Fine).
5. Honing Stroke: Pull the knife blade through the fine slot from heel to tip, using very light pressure. Repeat this motion 3-5 times to hone the edge and remove any burrs.

3.3 Sharpening Scissors

3. Sharpening Stroke: Gently push the scissor blade through the slot from the pivot to the tip, applying light pressure. Repeat this motion 3-5 times for each blade.
