1. Úvod
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the Intermatic WH-40 Electromechanical Water Heater Timer. This device is designed to automatically control your water heater's operation based on a preset daily schedule, helping to manage energy consumption.
The Intermatic WH-40 is a double-pole, 10000 Watts (40 Amp) maximum, 250 Volt - 60 Hz time switch. It is UL Listed 885L.

2. Bezpečnostní informace

3.1 Montáž
The timer is designed for wall mounting. Use appropriate fasteners to secure the timer to a sturdy surface. The back of the unit features mounting holes for this purpose.

3.2 Zapojení
Before proceeding, ensure power is disconnected at the main electrical panel.
- Open the timer cover to access the wiring terminals and internal components.
- Refer to the wiring diagram provided on the internal label (Figure 2) and inside the timer (Figure 4).
- Connect the incoming power lines (LINE 1, LINE 2) to the designated terminals.
- Connect the water heater load wires to the LOAD terminals.
- Connect the Neutral (white, if present) and Ground (green or bare) wires as indicated in the diagram.

4. Provoz
The WH-40 timer operates by using a clock dial and adjustable trippers to set ON and OFF times for your water heater.
4.1 Setting the Program
- Set ON/OFF Trippers: Mount the silver (ON) trippers at the times you wish the water heater to start operating. Place the black (OFF) trippers at the times you want the water heater to turn off. Fasten the trippers to the dial by pushing them against the edge of the dial, then tightening the screws firmly with your fingers.
- Nastavit aktuální čas: Jemně SEM the clock dial out (towards you) and turn it in either direction until the correct time-of-day (the current time when the switch is being put into operation) is directly under the TIME POINTER. Do not move the time pointer itself.
- Close the Time Switch cover, ensuring it is latched and locked securely.

4.2 Ruční ovládání
The external manual lever allows you to temporarily turn the water heater ON or OFF ahead of its scheduled program. The time switch will resume its preset program at the next scheduled ON or OFF operation.
Poznámka: The manual lever is inoperative for 15 minutes immediately after an automatic operation (when the timer itself has just switched ON or OFF).
4.3 After a Power Failure
If there is a power failure, or if the water heater was disconnected at the main panel, you must reset the clock dial to the proper time-of-day as described in Section 4.1, step 2.
4.4 Suspending Automatic Operation
To suspend the automatic operation of the timer, remove all ON and OFF trippers from the dial. You can then use the manual lever to control the water heater as desired.

- Periodically inspect the timer for any signs of damage or wear.
