To begin play, unfold the gameboard and place it on a flat, stable surface. Separate the 32 Star Wars chess pieces into two factions: 16 silver pieces representing the Rebel Alliance and 16 black pieces representing the Galactic Empire. Attach each character piece to its corresponding base. Arrange the pieces on the board according to standard chess setup, with Rebel characters on one side and Imperial characters on the opposite side.

Návod k obsluze
The Star Wars Chess Game follows the traditional rules of chess, with each character piece corresponding to a standard chess piece. The objective is to checkmate your opponent's King.
Piece Movement
- Pawns (Rebel: R2-D2, Imperial: Stormtroopers): Move one square forward, or two squares on their first move. Capture diagonally one square forward.
- Rooks (Rebel: Han Solo, Imperial: Boba Fett): Move any number of squares horizontally or vertically.
- Knights (Rebel: Chewbacca, Imperial: Darth Maul): Move in an L-shape (two squares in one direction, then one square perpendicularly). Knights are the only pieces that can jump over other pieces.
- Bishops (Rebel: Princess Leia, Imperial: Emperor Palpatine): Move any number of squares diagonally.
- Queens (Rebel: Luke Skywalker, Imperial: Darth Vader): Move any number of squares in any direction (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal).
- Kings (Rebel: Yoda, Imperial: Grand Moff Tarkin): Move one square in any direction (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal).
Objektivní
The primary objective of the game is to checkmate your opponent's King. This occurs when the King is under attack (in "check") and has no legal move to escape the attack.
