The VE800A HDMI extender extends your HDMI display up to 60 m away from your HDMI source using one Cat 5e cable. ATEN’s VE800A incorporates new technology that allows the A/V signals to be transmitted over a single Cat 5e cable. A DDC port is provided for the ability to use the display’s EDID by simply connecting another Cat 5e cable. The VE800A supports HDMI features such as 3D and deep color to give you the picture perfect viewing experience you desire.

The VE800A system consists of a transmitter unit (VE800AT) and a receiver unit (VE800AR). The transmitter connects to your HDMI source device, and the receiver connects to your HDMI display. A single Cat 5e cable links the transmitter and receiver units, carrying the HDMI signal over distance.
Kroky instalace
- Ensure all devices (HDMI source, display, and extender units) are powered off before beginning installation.
- Connect your HDMI source device (e.g., Blu-ray player, PC) to the HDMI input port on the VE800AT (Transmitter) unit using an HDMI cable.
- Connect your HDMI display device (e.g., TV, projector) to the HDMI output port on the VE800AR (Receiver) unit using an HDMI cable.
- Connect the RJ-45 port on the VE800AT (Transmitter) to the RJ-45 port on the VE800AR (Receiver) using a single Cat 5e Ethernet cable. Ensure the cable length does not exceed 40 meters for 1080p resolution or 60 meters for 1080i resolution.
- Connect the provided power adapters to the power jacks on both the VE800AT and VE800AR units, then plug them into a power outlet.
- Power on your HDMI display, then your HDMI source device. Finally, power on the VE800A extender units.
Operace
Nastavení ekvalizace
The VE800A features an 8-segment equalization adjustment switch. This switch allows you to optimize the video signal quality based on the length of the Cat 5e cable used. If you experience flickering, poor image quality, or no signal, adjust this switch incrementally until the best picture is achieved. Longer cable runs typically require higher equalization settings.
EDID Functionality
The DDC port on the VE800A allows for EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) pass-through. By connecting another Cat 5e cable to this port, the extender can read the EDID information directly from your display, ensuring optimal compatibility and resolution settings between your source and display devices.
Údržba
- Keep the VE800A units in a cool, dry environment, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive moisture.
- Clean the units with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
- Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the units yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.
