1. Úvod
The Hunter WRCLIK Wireless Rain and Freeze Sensor is designed to automatically shut off your sprinkler system when it rains or when temperatures drop to 37°F (3°C). This system helps conserve water, protect landscapes from overwatering, and prevent damage from freezing temperatures. Its wireless design simplifies installation, eliminating the need for trenching or extensive wiring.
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Hunter WRCLIK Wireless Rain Sensor System.
2. Klíčové vlastnosti
- Bezdrátový provoz: Eliminates the need for wires between the sensor and the controller, simplifying installation.
- Quick Response® Technology: Instantly shuts off the sprinkler system at the onset of rain.
- Senzor mrazu: Automatically suspends irrigation when temperatures fall to 37°F (3°C).
- Adjustable Vent Ring: Allows customization of the drying time for the sensor, controlling how soon watering resumes after rain.
- Všestranné možnosti montáže: Can be mounted on an eave, wall, fence, or gutter using the included hardware.
- Široká kompatibilita: Works with most irrigation controllers that have normally open or normally closed sensor ports.
- Odolný design: Built to withstand various weather conditions for long-term reliability.
3. Obsah balení
Před zahájením instalace ověřte, zda jsou všechny komponenty přítomny:
- WRCLIK Wireless Rain/Freeze Sensor (Transmitter)
- WRCLIK Receiver

4. Instalace
4.1 Mounting the Sensor (Transmitter)
The sensor should be mounted in an open area that is exposed to unobstructed rainfall, but not in the path of sprinkler spray. Avoid locations under eaves, trees, or overhangs that could block rain from reaching the sensor. The sensor can be mounted on an eave, wall, fence, or gutter.
- Gutter Mount: Attach the gutter mount bracket to the edge of a gutter. Secure the sensor unit to the bracket.
- Wall/Eave Mount: Use the standard wall/roof mount bracket. Secure the bracket to a flat vertical surface (wall, fence) or horizontal surface (eave) using appropriate screws. Attach the sensor unit to the bracket.

4.2 Wiring the Receiver to the Controller
The WRCLIK receiver connects to your irrigation controller. Most controllers have dedicated sensor terminals (usually labeled "Sensor," "SEN," or "S"). Refer to your irrigation controller's manual for specific wiring instructions.
- Locate the sensor terminals on your irrigation controller.
- Connect the two wires from the WRCLIK receiver to the sensor terminals on your controller. The polarity typically does not matter for simple rain sensors.
- If your controller has a common terminal for sensors, ensure proper connection as per your controller's manual.
- Secure the receiver near the controller, ensuring it is within wireless range of the sensor (typically up to 700 feet line of sight).
4.3 Počáteční nastavení a párování
The WRCLIK sensor and receiver units are typically pre-paired at the factory. No manual pairing is usually required for initial setup. Once wired and powered, the receiver should communicate with the sensor automatically.
The receiver has a "Sensor Status" LED. A green light indicates the sensor is active and communicating. A red light indicates a bypass or communication issue.
5. Provoz
5.1 Automatic Rain and Freeze Detection
When the sensor detects a sufficient amount of rainfall, or when the ambient temperature drops to 37°F (3°C), it sends a signal to the receiver. The receiver then signals the irrigation controller to suspend all scheduled watering cycles. Watering will resume automatically once the sensor has dried out (for rain) or the temperature rises above the freeze threshold.
5.2 Adjustable Vent Ring
The sensor features an adjustable vent ring that controls the drying rate of the hygroscopic discs inside. By rotating the vent ring, you can adjust how quickly the sensor dries out after rain, thereby controlling how soon your irrigation system resumes operation. A more open vent allows faster drying, while a more closed vent slows drying. Adjust this based on your local climate and soil conditions.
5.3 Manual Bypass Function
The receiver unit includes a "Rain Sensor Bypass" button. Pressing this button will temporarily bypass the sensor, allowing your irrigation system to operate even if the sensor is detecting rain or freeze conditions. This is useful for testing or for situations where you need to manually water despite sensor input. The "Sensor Bypass" LED will illuminate red when the sensor is bypassed. Press the button again to re-enable the sensor.
6. Údržba
- Čištění: Periodically inspect the sensor for debris, leaves, or spiderwebs that might obstruct the rain collection or vent ring. Clean gently with a soft cloth.
- Baterie: The wireless sensor unit contains a long-life battery. While designed for extended use, if the sensor stops communicating or the receiver indicates a fault, the battery may need replacement. Consult Hunter support for battery replacement procedures.
- Zima: In regions with harsh winters, it is advisable to inspect the sensor before freezing temperatures set in to ensure it is clear of ice or snow buildup. The freeze sensor will automatically suspend operation below 37°F (3°C).
7. Řešení problémů
- System not shutting off during rain:
- Check sensor placement for obstructions.
- Ensure the vent ring is not fully closed, preventing the sensor from activating.
- Verify wiring connections at the controller.
- Check the "Sensor Status" LED on the receiver for communication.
- Ensure the manual bypass is not engaged.
- System not resuming after rain:
- Check the adjustable vent ring; it might be set too closed, slowing drying.
- Ensure the sensor is not in a shaded area that prevents drying.
- Verify communication between sensor and receiver.
- No communication between sensor and receiver:
- Ensure the sensor and receiver are within wireless range.
- Zkontrolujte, zda se v blízkosti nenacházejí silné zdroje rušení.
- The sensor's internal battery may be low or depleted.
- Controller displays a sensor error:
- Refer to your controller's manual for specific error codes.
- Ověřte zapojení kabeláže.
- Test the sensor bypass function to see if the controller operates normally when the sensor is bypassed.
