Proper installation of filter media is crucial for effective filtration. Refer to your specific canister filter's manual for detailed instructions on opening and reassembling the filter unit.

1. Rinse Media: Before placing any media into your filter, thoroughly rinse the activated carbons, bio balls, and ceramic rings under cool, running tap water. This removes any dust or debris that could cloud your aquarium water. Continue rinsing until the water runs clear.
2. Mediální umístění: Arrange the media in your canister filter trays according to the recommended flow path for your specific filter model. Generally, media is placed in the following order from water intake to outflow:
   • Mechanical Filtration (First): Coarse sponges or filter floss (not included in this set) to remove large particles.

   • Chemical Filtration (Last): Activated carbons. These absorb dissolved impurities and odors.

• Activated Carbons: Activated carbon becomes saturated over time and loses its effectiveness. It should be replaced every 2-4 weeks, or as needed, depending on aquarium bioload and water conditions. Do not rinse and reuse.
• Ceramic Rings and Bio Balls: These biological media should be rinsed periodically (e.g., every 1-3 months) to remove accumulated sludge.
