The Tenda O1 Outdoor Access Point is a 2.4GHz 11n 300Mbps wireless bridge designed for long-distance wireless connections. It is specifically engineered for video surveillance applications in various outdoor environments such as elevators, crane towers, communities, factories, orchards, and scenic spots. Featuring an IP65 waterproof enclosure and high-quality hardware, the O1 can operate reliably in diverse weather conditions, including sunshine, rain, snow, and extreme temperatures ranging from -30°C to 55°C.

The device supports point-to-point (PtP) and point-to-multi-point (PtMP) connections, making it ideal for private ISP wireless connectivity, CCTV surveillance, and data transmission over distances up to 500 meters. Its auto-bridge technology simplifies setup, allowing two CPEs to connect automatically when powered on face-to-face.

4. Nastavení

4.1 Fyzická instalace

The Tenda O1 is designed for pole-mounted installation. Its robust IP65-rated enclosure ensures durability in outdoor conditions.

4.2 napájecí zdroj

The O1 supports two power supply modes:

  • 9V-12V DC Direct Power Supply: Use the provided power adapter to connect directly to the DC port.
  • Passive PoE Network Cable Power Supply: Use the provided PoE adapter to supply power over the Ethernet cable. This is useful when the device is installed far from a power outlet.

4.3 Auto-Bridge Technology

The Tenda O1 features auto-bridge technology for simplified setup. When two O1 CPE units are powered on face-to-face, they can automatically establish a connection, eliminating complex configuration steps.

5. Provozní režimy

The Tenda O1 supports multiple operating modes to suit various application scenarios:

  • AP Mode (Access Point): One O1 unit acts as an Access Point, broadcasting a wireless signal.
  • Klientský režim: Another O1 unit acts as a client, receiving the wireless signal from the AP.
  • Wireless WAN Mode: Used for connecting to an ISP hotspot or other wireless networks.

These modes facilitate long-distance point-to-point (PtP) and point-to-multi-point (PtMP) data transmission, video monitoring, and wireless connection to ISP signal towers.

5.1 Point-to-Point (PtP) Connection

In a PtP setup, one O1 operates in AP mode and the other in Client mode to create a dedicated long-distance wireless link. This is commonly used for extending a network to another building or for CCTV surveillance.

5.2 Point-to-Multi-Point (PtMP) Connection

For PtMP scenarios, one O1 acts as the central AP, connecting to multiple O1 units configured as clients. This is suitable for monitoring multiple IP cameras across a wider area.

6. Údržba

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Tenda O1 Outdoor Access Point, consider the following maintenance tips:

  • Pravidelné aktualizace firmwaru: Check the Tenda website periodically for the latest firmware versions. Updating firmware can improve performance, add new features, and fix bugs. The CPE Assistant software also supports software upgrades.
  • Fyzická kontrola: Periodically inspect the device and its mounting for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections, especially after severe weather conditions.
  • Ohledy na životní prostředí: While designed for outdoor use, avoid placing the device in locations with excessive direct sunlight or extreme moisture if possible, to further extend its lifespan.
  • Timed Restart: Utilize the timed restart feature in the device management settings to automatically reboot the device, which can help maintain stable operation.

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your Tenda O1 device.

7.1 Connection Timeout or Packet Loss

This can be caused by signal interference, poor physical placement, incorrect bridge settings, or mismatched firmware versions.

  • Check Channel Settings: Ensure your bridge devices are on clear channels to avoid excessive interference.

If your client device cannot connect to the network after configuring the bridge:

  • IP Address Access: If you cannot access the device's IP address (default 192.168.2.1), ensure your computer's network settings are compatible with the device's subnet.

  • Weak Signal/Interference: Try changing the wireless channel or adjusting the bridge position. The distance between bridges is too far, exceeding the effective coverage range.

The default login for the device management is username 'admin' and password 'admin'. Any Wi-Fi network broadcast by a connected router would have its own password.
  • Hotspot Access Point Functionality: The Tenda O1 is designed as a wireless bridge for long-distance data transmission, not as a general-purpose Wi-Fi hotspot for direct client connections (like phones or laptops). While it can operate in AP mode within a bridge setup, it's not intended to serve as a public or private Wi-Fi access point for end-user devices.
  • Number of IP Cameras: The Tenda O1 can support multiple IP cameras in a Point-to-Multi-Point setup. The exact number depends on the bandwidth requirements of each camera and the overall network traffic. Diagrams show connections for up to three IP cameras to a single client CPE.
  • NVR Requirement: Yes, for video surveillance applications, an NVR (Network Video Recorder) is typically required to record and manage the video streams from the IP cameras connected via the Tenda O1 bridge.
  • Vnitřní použití: While the O1 is designed for outdoor environments with its IP65 rating, it can technically function indoors. However, its directional antenna and long-range capabilities are optimized for outdoor line-of-sight applications. Using it indoors might not leverage its full potential and could lead to unnecessary signal interference in dense indoor environments.
