5. Pokyny k nastavení

5.1 Počáteční umístění a připojení napájení

  1. Place the overlock machine on a stable, flat surface.
  2. Ensure the power switch (located at the rear, see Figure 3) is in the 'OFF' position.

The Janome Artstyle 4057 features a color-coded threading diagram on its front panel (visible when covers are open, Figure 4) to guide you. Follow the numerical and color sequence carefully for proper threading.

  2. Lift the thread guides and open the front and side covers to access the loopers.
  3. Follow the color-coded path for each thread, starting with the lower looper, then the upper looper, and finally the needles.
  4. Use tweezers to guide threads through small openings and looper eyes.
  5. Ensure all threads are seated correctly in the tension discs.

5.3 Instalace jehly

6.1 Available Seam Types

  • Fixed 4-Strand: For strong, durable seams on woven and knit fabrics.
  • Knitted Stretch: Ideal for highly elastic fabrics, providing flexibility without breaking stitches.
  • Assembly 4-Strand: A strong seam for joining fabric pieces.
  • 3-Thread Wide: A wide overlock stitch for general seaming and finishing.
  • 3-Thread Narrow: A narrower overlock stitch, suitable for delicate fabrics or less bulky seams.
  • 3-Thread Undercutting: For fine rolled hems or decorative edges.
  • 3-Strand Roller: Creates a tight, decorative rolled hem.
  • Flat Seam 3-Strand (Flatlock): A decorative flat seam, often used for activewear or joining two pieces of fabric with a flat finish.

6.2 Úprava nastavení

The machine features several adjustable settings to optimize performance for different fabrics and desired stitch types:

  • Cloth Foot Pressure Adjustment: Located on top of the machine, this dial allows you to increase or decrease the pressure on the fabric, crucial for handling very thick or very thin materials.
  • Trimming Width Adjustment: Adjusts the distance between the needle and the cutting knife, with a maximum trimming width of up to 5mm. This controls how much fabric is trimmed off the edge.
  • Nastavení délky stehu: Controls the length of each stitch, up to 4mm. Use shorter stitches for finer fabrics or more durable seams, longer stitches for decorative effects or thicker materials.
  • Diferenciální poměr posuvu: This feature, with a ratio range of 0.5-2.5, helps prevent stretching or puckering of fabrics. Adjust it to match the fabric's elasticity: use a higher ratio (above 1.0) for stretching knits to prevent wavy seams, and a lower ratio (below 1.0) for fine fabrics to prevent puckering.
  • Cutting Off Knife: The machine is equipped with a cutting knife that trims the fabric edge before stitching. It can be engaged or disengaged as needed.

6.3 Začínáme šít

  4. Gently press the foot controller to start sewing. The maximum sewing speed is 1300 stitches per minute.

7.1 Čištění

  • Open the front and side covers.
  • Use the provided brush to remove lint and dust from the looper area, feed dogs, and knife area.

7.2 Mazání olejem

  • Refer to your full manual for specific oiling points. Generally, a few drops of sewing machine oil should be applied to moving metal parts, especially the loopers and needle bar mechanism, after every 8-10 hours of use.

7.3 Výměna jehly

Replace needles regularly (after 8-10 hours of sewing or when they become dull/bent) to prevent skipped stitches and fabric damage. Follow the instructions in Section 5.3.

8. Řešení problémů
