1. Úvod

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe assembly, operation, and maintenance of your MechMaxx NAM68 68-Inch PTO Flail Mower. 4. Nastavení

4.1 Vybalení a počáteční kontrola

The flail mower is typically shipped in a protective steel frame crate. Carefully remove the packaging. Inspect all components for any shipping damage. Report any damage to the carrier and supplier immediately.

4.2 Gearbox Oil Filling

WARNING: The gearbox is shipped without oil. Failure to add oil before first use will cause severe damage and void the warranty.

Before initial operation, fill the gearbox with 1.20 liters (1.27 quarts) of 85W-90 gearbox oil. Locate the oil filler hole on the gearbox and use a funnel to add the oil until it reaches the specified level.

4.3 PTO Shaft Assembly and Sizing

The included PTO drive shaft must be connected to your tractor. It may require cutting to the proper length to prevent damage during operation. Refer to your tractor's manual and the PTO shaft manufacturer's instructions for correct sizing and installation procedures. Ensure the PTO shaft is securely attached to both the tractor and the mower's gearbox.

4.4 3-Point Hitch Connection

Attach the flail mower to your tractor's Category 1, 3-point hitch. Ensure all pins and clips are securely fastened. Adjust the top link and lift arms to achieve the desired mowing height and level operation. The mower is designed for offset category 1, 3-point hitch connections.

5.1 Tractor Compatibility

This flail mower requires a tractor with 30-60 horsepower (HP) and a Category 1, 3-point hitch. Operating with a tractor outside this HP range may result in inefficient performance or damage to the equipment.

5.2 Engaging PTO

With the mower properly attached and the tractor engine running at a low idle, engage the PTO slowly and smoothly. Gradually increase the tractor's engine RPM to achieve the recommended 540 RPM at the PTO shaft for optimal cutting performance. Avoid sudden engagement or disengagement of the PTO.

• Adjust the cutting height using the tractor's 3-point hitch and the mower's rear roller.

6. Údržba

WARNING: Always disengage PTO, shut off the tractor, remove the key, and wait for all moving parts to stop before performing any maintenance.

6.1 Pravidelné mazání

Regularly grease all fittings on the mower, including those on the PTO shaft, gearbox, and roller bearings. Refer to the lubrication points indicated in the manual or on the machine itself. Proper lubrication extends the life of moving parts.

6.2 Kontrola a výměna čepele

Periodically inspect the 28 flail hammers for wear, damage, or looseness. Worn or damaged hammers should be replaced promptly to maintain cutting efficiency and balance. Ensure replacement hammers are genuine MechMaxx parts.

6.3 Gearbox Oil Checks

Check the gearbox oil level regularly, especially after the first few hours of operation and then seasonally. Top up with 85W-90 gearbox oil as needed. Inspect for any signs of oil leaks, which should be addressed immediately.

6.4 General Fastener Checks

Before each use, check the tightness of all nuts, bolts, and allen screws, particularly on the belt pulleys and mounting points. Vibration during operation can cause fasteners to loosen over time.
