The SEBSON GS536GC photoelectric smoke detector is designed to provide early warning of dangerous smoke development. This device is certified according to DIN EN 14604 standards, ensuring reliable performance. Upon detecting smoke, the alarm emits a loud sound to alert occupants. The detector also features a self-test function and a low battery warning system for continuous safety monitoring.

Please read and understand all safety instructions before installation and use. Failure to do so may result in improper operation and potential hazards.

• Nemalovat: Never paint the smoke detector. Paint can clog the sensing chambers and prevent the unit from operating correctly.
• Pravidelné testování: Test the smoke detector weekly to ensure it is functioning properly.
• Výměna baterie: Replace the battery immediately when the low battery warning sounds. Although the included battery has a 5-year life, individual battery performance may vary.

Nastavení a instalace

Proper installation is crucial for the effective operation of your smoke detector.

1. Výběr místa instalace

Install smoke detectors on the ceiling in the center of the room, or at least 50 cm (20 inches) from any wall. Avoid installing in:

• Kitchens, bathrooms, or garages where cooking fumes, steam, or exhaust can cause false alarms.
• Near ventilation openings, air conditioners, or fans, as air currents can prevent smoke from reaching the detector.
• Areas with high humidity or extreme temperatures (outside 0°C to +37°C).

2. Instalace baterie

1. Remove the mounting bracket from the smoke detector by twisting it counter-clockwise.
2. Insert the provided 9V DC block battery into the battery compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
3. The detector will emit a short beep to indicate successful battery installation.

3. Montáž detektoru

You can mount the detector using the included screws or an appropriate adhesive (not included).

1. Šroubová montáž:
   • Pomocí montážního držáku jako šablony označte na stropě dva otvory pro vrtání.
   • Vyvrtejte otvory a v případě potřeby vložte hmoždinky.
   • Attach the mounting bracket to the ceiling using the provided screws.
   • Align the smoke detector with the mounting bracket and twist clockwise until it locks securely in place.
2. Adhesive Mounting (Optional, not recommended for all surfaces):
   • Ensure the ceiling surface is clean, dry, and smooth.
   • Apply a suitable adhesive (e.g., double-sided adhesive pad, not included) to the back of the mounting bracket.
   • Press the bracket firmly onto the desired ceiling location for at least 30 seconds.
   • Align the smoke detector with the mounting bracket and twist clockwise until it locks securely in place.

Normální provoz

Once installed with a fresh battery, the smoke detector will enter normal operating mode. A short flash of the LED indicator every 32 seconds confirms that the unit is powered on and performing its self-test function.

Testování detektoru

To manually test the smoke detector, press and hold the central test button for approximately 5 seconds. The alarm will sound loudly, and the LED will flash rapidly. Release the button to stop the alarm. This test verifies the battery, alarm, and sensing circuitry are working correctly.

Signál alarmu

When smoke is detected, the alarm will emit a loud, continuous sound (≥ 85 dB at 3 meters) and the LED will flash rapidly. In case of an alarm, evacuate the premises immediately and contact emergency services.

Upozornění na vybitou baterii

When the battery is low, the detector will emit a short chirp approximately every 30-40 seconds, accompanied by a brief LED flash. This indicates that the battery needs to be replaced immediately.

Údržba

Pravidelná údržba zajišťuje trvalou spolehlivost vašeho detektoru kouře.

• Týdenní testování: Press the test button weekly to confirm the alarm is functioning.
• Měsíční úklid: Gently vacuum the exterior of the smoke detector with a soft brush attachment to remove dust and cobwebs. Do not use cleaning agents or solvents.
• Výměna baterie: Replace the 9V alkaline battery when the low battery warning sounds. Although the battery has a 5-year life, it is replaceable. Always use a fresh, high-quality 9V alkaline battery.
