Shromáždění

Follow these steps to assemble your BLACK+DECKER 20V MAX Cordless Pole Saw.

Nabíjení baterie

The 20V MAX Lithium Ion battery should be fully charged before initial use. Connect the smart charger to a standard power outlet and insert the battery. Refer to the charger's indicator lights for charging status. A full charge ensures maximum run time and performance.

The pole saw can be used at a length of 6.5 ft or 10 ft by adding or removing the center extension. This provides an overhead reach of up to 14 ft. Adjust the length based on the height of the branches you intend to cut, ensuring you maintain a safe working distance from the cutting area and proper balance.

1. To start the pole saw, depress the safety lock switch located on the handle, then squeeze the trigger.

Techniky řezání

• Position yourself firmly on the ground, maintaining balance. Keep a clear path for falling debris.
• Allow the saw to reach full speed before engaging the branch.
• Use the bottom of the bar for cutting. Let the saw's weight assist in the cut, do not force it.
• For larger branches, make relief cuts (an undercut followed by a top cut) to prevent pinching and uncontrolled falling.
• Avoid cutting branches larger than 6 inches in diameter, as this exceeds the tool's recommended capacity.

Údržba

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your pole saw. Always disconnect the battery before performing any maintenance.

Mazání řetězu

The pole saw does not have an automatic oiler. Manually apply bar and chain oil to the chain and guide bar frequently during operation, approximately every 15-20 cuts. This reduces friction, heat, and wear. Use the provided oil bottle for convenience. For cutting live trees, vegetable oil is a suitable alternative to petroleum-based bar oil.

Check chain tension before each use and after every hour of operation. A properly tensioned chain should be snug against the guide bar but still allow you to pull it around the bar by hand. If the chain is too loose, it can derail; if too tight, it can cause excessive wear and reduce performance. Use the provided wrench to adjust the tension screw.

Čištění a skladování

• Clean the saw chain and guide bar of debris, sawdust, and sap after each use.
