1. Mounting the Cartridge
- Carefully attach the M44-7 cartridge to your turntable's headshell using the provided mounting hardware. Ensure the cartridge is securely fastened.
- Connect the headshell wires to the corresponding pins on the cartridge. Typically, these are color-coded:
- Red: Right Channel Hot (R+)
- Green: Right Channel Ground (R-)
- White: Left Channel Hot (L+)
- Blue: Left Channel Ground (L-)
2. Cartridge Alignment

3. Setting Tracking Force

For general listening (Hi-Fi), a lighter tracking force within the recommended range is often preferred. For DJ applications, especially scratching, a heavier tracking force (up to 3.0 grams) can enhance skip resistance.
4. Anti-Skate Adjustment
Adjust the anti-skate setting on your tone arm to match the tracking force. This helps balance the inward force on the stylus, ensuring even wear and optimal stereo separation.
